Realize Confidence

October 25th, 2010

As we move into the autumn and winter months, for many of us, it becomes easier to reflect on our lives.  The darker days with rain and snow inevitably slow us down.  Use this time to contemplate where your confidence level is today in the different areas of your life; work, partnership, health, new acquaintances, and with new possibilities and risks.

You will probably notice differences in these areas.  Notice also the state of your well-being in each of these areas.  Is there a direct correlation between well-being and confidence?

In The Essential Feminine™ Living Room, on October 27th at noon PST, we will be looking closely at how our energy, biorhythms, the meaning of our lives and our overall physical and mental health totally inform our confidence.  We will look at ways to raise our vibrations and discover how your choices relate to the life you live daily.

It is important to realize that a truly confident woman gains her strength from truly respecting her body, from a clear and rested mind and from a deeply expressed soul.

Join us in our “Living Room” for our complementary session of information and networking with women world-wide.  Register at: https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/957535688

Conscious Choices

June 27th, 2010

Wednesday we worked with the idea of Conscious Choices in the Essential Feminine Living Room.  It has become clear to me in my own life that the clearer I am about my intentions the more powerful the outcomes are.  I guess by now this sounds obvious since so many world teachers are focusing on the power of intention.  The truth of the matter is that it needs to become an integrated part of our daily practice or these are just senseless words.

In The Living Room, we focused on each of gaining an understanding of what the bigger picture of our life holds.  What is the meaning we are here to express, or live or create.  True magic in life arises when we line up this bigger picture with our daily choices.  The bigger picture serves as a litmus test in which we can begin to measure if our life is in alignment or not.

For many years, I’ve been discussing the idea that each of us have a higher purpose or meaning.  It is the responsibility of each of us to discover our own higher purpose.  A few questions to ask yourself include:

  • How can I allow more good into my life?
  • What brings me pure joy:
  • What is deeply meaningful for me?
  • What is the best way for me to create quiet time or time for introspection?

As I speak with women today on a regular basis I hear the comment that life moves so fast.  For this very reason it is essential that we create time to answer these very important questions.  Once we do, our quality of life becomes far richer and more meaningful.

Join me for the next Living Room which will be held on July 28th when our topic will be Feminine Abundance – Fully Showing Up In The World  and our guest will be Anna Scott.  Register at https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/896207192

Transform Your Life in 2010 To Fulfill Your Vision

December 6th, 2009

“The responses and results that you receive from anyone, in any situation, are triggered by the stimuli you provide.  The stimuli are your behaviors.  This is the only way people can get to know you…If you behave in purposeful, meaningful, constructive ways, you get superior results.  That is how you create your own experience.  When you choose the behavior (the action), you choose the consequences.”

Phillip C. McGraw, Ph.D.  “Strategies: Doing What Works, Doing What Matters”

Now as 2009 ends is the perfect time for you to choose the behavior and actions that will support you to get the consequences you truly desire.  It is time for women to be who they really are by bringing forth their unique attributes and gifts.  The world desperately needs their compassion, their ability to see the whole picture and work for the good of all.  We have seen over the past year what happens when we strive towards individual gratification, whether the individual is a person or a corporation.

In a webinar which is ending in the next week, I have been supporting women to create their own unique, sustainable Blueprints for 2009.  This webinar has created a good deal of excitement concerning the positive things that will be happening in 2010 with the women involved.   It is a life transforming process that will bring you towards a life of happiness, success and contribution.  Therefore, I am offering this on an individual basis over a nine week period to those of you who are ready to take the journey with me.  There are details about this course for more information please contact us at info@theessentialfeminine.com.

Think of 2010 as a chance to begin a new decade with confidence in yourself as a woman who can create the life she envisions.

We Are a Part of a Much Greater Picture: Our Passion is an Indicator

October 7th, 2009

“Deep within every life, no matter how dull or ineffectual it may seem from the outside there is something eternal happening.” John O’Donohue

I’ve come to know that we are part of a much greater picture than we might believe when we sit stuck in a traffic jam or feel frustrated about a challenging communication in our day. These days I have been learning to take an aerial view and fly high above the simple challenges that take place in my day-to-day life. I have come to believe that each of our lives may sometimes feel ineffectual, but in reality something very major is happening. The real art is to learn how to tune in to what is most important in our life? How do we identify what our true passion is so that we can begin to move from ineffectual to fully alive and passionate.

I believe the answer to us finding our passion-lies in our ability to connect with what is deep in our life – what is significant and important to us. I believe that we have deep wells of joy that are waiting to erupt as a geyser or a spring. We must take time to listen and to allow the answers and information that we need to find us.

Silence is a natural way to connect with what we hold deep in our hearts. Trust that through silence signs that come into your daily life – trust and your ability to follow what feels good and right in your life will all serve as great resources on your journey to connecting with the bigger eternal aspects of your life.

Five ways to live with greater influence

September 29th, 2009

1.Take yourself seriously.   Take an inventory of your assets and strengths, claim them, share them, and live proudly with them.

2. Surround yourself with great mentors and teachers that can allow you to both grow and learn. Notice the ways that you are most inspired, notice the times that you feel most in need of greater knowledge.

3. Read, ask questions and read. Stay current on topics that interest you most, notice trends break downs, and areas where you can make a contribution.

4. Do more of what you love. Surround yourself with work and play that is both satisfying and enriching. Use your heart, soul, and voice in equal measure.

5. Go within and listen for what is right to you. Integrate these things ideas and feelings follow them, speak about them.

Taking Charge by Making Conscious Decisions Regarding Your Life – First Steps

September 15th, 2009

Life is fast and full for most of us! We go through the days like ships at sea without a compass, seemingly at the mercy of everything around us. That is when it is important to make a conscious decision to pause and realize that we are the ones responsible for our lives. We can take charge. We can find our compass, our direction, and make a difference in the world. Three steps we can take to achieve our direction are to quiet the mind, connect with the body, and evaluate whether or not we are expressing our gifts fully in the world. All three of these practical expressions can make a major difference in the quality of our lives!

The first step: Quieting The Mind

 • Set aside time in silence at least 3 days a week for 20 minutes where you can begin to get to know yourself, your needs, your desires and aspirations. Learn to identify and trust your intuition and inner voice. We all have an inner voice that guides and directs us. We just need to listen.

• Question: Can you think of one way this week that you could actually create a period of calm and stillness for yourself?

The second step: Connecting With The Body

• Learn to become more aware of your body’s needs.

• Listen more closely to the signs that your body gives you, i.e. where are there aches, sensations and areas of tightness? Is your body sending you a message? What might the message be?

• Explore these sensations through yoga or other movement you enjoy. Your body holds great information about its own healing needs and emotional state of being.

• Question: What 2 things would you need to do differently to begin to honor and care for your body in a new way?

By taking these two steps, you start to walk on a path of self-exploration. You begin to get a sense of who you are and how your life fits into the scheme of things. Each of us is unique and each of us has a unique contribution to make in the world. The world today needs the contributions that are born from the qualities and gifts embodied in women. We as women need to discover these gifts and bring them forth.

Returning to Wholeness

September 13th, 2009

What kinds of risks can you to take that will bring you closer to the life you were meant for? What is the conversation about your life that you most often return to that no longer serves you? What would you like to be, do or have that you keep relegating to the domain of “someday”? What wakes you up in the wee hours of the morning, seeking your undivided attention? Is there a dream that you’ve given up on or a joy you’ve forgotten?

Remembering your destiny is so much more than simply recalling some ephemeral past memories. It is actually a returning to, a rediscovery of your whole self and a full realization of your extraordinary place in the tapestry of life.

In order to live a fully expressed and alive life, it is absolutely essential on a daily basis to stretch beyond your normal comfort zone. Try something you’ve never done before. Let yourself have the freedom to imagine new possibilities in the areas of career, finances, fitness, well-being, friendship and love. Say “yes” to an opportunity that arises. And practice being utterly fascinated with your own answers to these questions:

  • What innate talents do I possess?
  • What are my greatest gifts?
  • What do I enjoy doing so much that I lose track of time while I’m doing it?
  • What are the guiding principles of my life—what is my polestar?
  • What do I love the most about life?
  • How can I have powerful and on-going support for taking risks and living fully?

ALLOWING WELL BEING TO FLOW STEADILY IN OUR LIVES

June 30th, 2009

These days I have been reading a book called “Ask & It Is Given” by Ester and Jerry Hicks.  It has become very clear to me that when we rediscover our innate ability to allow well being to steadily flow in to our lives, that our lives are lived from an elevated level.  We are the ones who restrict our experiences from the steady flow of well being.  In the book, the Art of Allowing our natural well being is referred to frequently as “the art of no longer restricting the well being that you deserve; the well being that is natural; the well being that is your legacy…”

If it is true that we are the ones that allow for our own well being, what gets in our way?  What stops us or restricts us from living well every day of our lives.  If this well being is natural and it is said to be our legacy, let’s take a look at some of the hindrances that we create:

  •  Fear – of failure, of success,  of accomplishing, of not accomplishing
  • Sabotaging our potential – not feeling worthy
  • Underestimating or not being clear about our gifts
  • Not staying fit and maximizing our life energy and life force
  • Not setting boundaries or limits with ourselves and other people

The list goes on and on.  Add your own.  But take this moment to name the hindrance but next to it, name the potential solution.  If our well being is up to us, it is our responsibility to find a way to support it, to flow naturally on a daily basis.

Take a moment to identify your hindrances to your personal well being.  Create a solution for each hindrance.  Go for it!

AN AIM IN LIFE

June 23rd, 2009

“An aim in life is the only fortune worth finding; and it is not to be found in a foreign land, but in the heart itself.” Robert Louis Stevenson I guess I’ve always been pretty clear about why I’m here. My journey began years back at seventeen years of age when I chose to study human services and community organization. My heart has always been with people. My dream has always been to be a part of maximizing human potential in every possible way. I have dedicated my life to this aim. However, each day and each year of my life sure as to what the best way for me to achieve this aim would be. But I always kept the question alive. I am convinced that the answer does lie in our heart, not in a foreign land, and it’s our personal responsibility to embark upon that exploration. As I’ve written many times, I believe each of us is here for a very specific purpose that no one else could fulfill. Some days the clarity of that purpose feels very far away, but we owe it to ourselves to stay conscious and inquisitive. You are a very special part of a whole. Without you, things would be very different. “What is your aim?” “Can you look in your heart and trust that the answer is to be found there?”

For What Have I Been Chosen?

June 19th, 2009

As John O Donohue the famous Irish writer said, “…to be born is to be chosen. No one is here by accident”. I love that thought because it deepens my inquiry as to why I am actually here!  I also find the statement to be bold. Irish writers are not afraid to be bold or to think outside of the box!

I know that there are many arguments that can and have been made regarding John’s statement above, but I totally agree with his wise words. The above quote comes from John’s stellar work Anam Cara (soul friend in Irish). In Anam Cara John goes on to write,” This selectivity intimates a sheltering providence that dreamed you, created you and always minds you. You were not consulted on the major factors that shaped your destiny: when you were born; to whom you were born or. where you would be born. Imagine the difference it would have made to your life had you been born into the house next door.

John’s conversation above gets me thinking:

For what have I been chosen?

If my life is not an accident, there must be deep meaning for my life. Am I living up to this sacred contract?  How can I take my commitment to live fully to the next level?

Consider asking yourself the above questions.  And, for a new perspective on life, ask yourself, “What would it have been like if I had been born next door?”
