We are often overwhelmed by the world around us and wonder how we as individuals could make a difference. Our world isn’t the way we would like it to be; what can we do? I believe that the only true way to change the world around us is to change our inner world as it is reflected in what we attract from the outer world. I believe that, as Shakti Gawain said in her Reflections in the Light “When we trust and follow the energy of the universe within us, it leads us into the appropriate action for any given situation. It may lead us to speak or be silent, to move and dance or be still, to sing, shout, cry, or meditate. In interactions with others it may lead us to converse, to hug, to sit quietly together. The passion of life exists in all of these experiences and fulfillment comes from following and expressing this energy naturally, as we really need it.â€
Once again we are at that time of year when we look back at the past and make resolutions about how we’d like to make changes in the New Year ahead. This is the perfect time to think about the inner resources that we naturally hold; such as a deep understanding of the whole, a natural ability for care and compassion, and a deep innate wisdom to be able to see through the outer surface of things. If we find ways to integrate these attributes into our lives in a way that enhances our personal power and our ability to pull from our own resources and depth, our lives would become more successful.
This is the topic of our first webinar of the New Year which is entitled, “Fully Showing Up in 2011: Alive Awake and Ready To Goâ€. For two hours on January 12th beginning at 12:00 noon, this webinar will support you to design your personal 2011 New Year Strategy.Â
Life is rich if we embrace it with an open mind and an open heart. It’s our choice as to how we fill our waking hours. Make some choices about how you would like to create your life going forward. Join us for this exciting webinar and learn practical ways to bring energy, appropriate action and fulfillment into your 2011. Register for this exciting webinar at: http://teffullyshowingup.eventbrite.com

We often don’t take time to look at or think about how confident we are in our life, our life challenges and the world. Our confidence is rooted in many aspects of our lives. Some of these aspects include how we feel physically, how we look or feel we look, and how aligned our life is with a greater meaning or purpose.Â
Our health:Â The quality of our health directly relates to the energy we have on a daily basis and how we feel over all.
Our physical appearance:  posture and how we show up in the world dictates how we are perceived and received. It is also a direct reflection, in many cases, as to how we feel about ourselves.Â
The greater meaning and purpose that our life holds is also a key factor in building strong confidence – as when we have meaning in our lives our days become brighter, more alive and richer in all ways.Â
Confidence as we can see is built from many different aspects of our life. I have recently re-ignited a yoga practice and have noticed how my posture has improved and how waling into a room I feel stronger, more upright and more confident. I also have been noticing the foods I put into my body and how specifically I feel after eating different foods. There is something very consistent about the buzz of sugar and the immediate bliss I receive but an hour later I can consistently count on a physiological dip. If you meet me during this dip and after not having stretched or loosened up the tightness in my body for some time, you would be meeting a less confident woman who carries herself differently In the world. Trust me, I have tested this correlation time and time again. I have come to realize that we cannot express next level confidence without looking at our bodies, our minds and our spirit. I recently heard Deepak Chopra give a talk on body mind medicine to about 2500 people in California. Not only are we interrelated on the global front through, commerce, our monetary system, the way that germs and epidemics travel but we are also interconnected within our own being. A truly confident woman gains strength from a fully respected, fully charged body from a mind that is clear and rested and a soul that is deeply expressed, in the way that she shows up contributes and lives in this world.
This month in the Essential Feminine Living Room we will be discussing next level confidence. We will look at the many components that go into a confident well-lived life. When you line up the different areas we will be looking at and incorporate them into your life you will have the opportunity to take your confidence to a whole new level. Check the blog each week in October as we will be adding more food for thought. Today, take a look at your life and decide of the areas we have covered, which ones you need to view more closely to gain far more confidence in your live. Join us on October 27 at noon PST for our next Living Room entitled: Taking Confidence to a Whole New Level for Big Time Life Payoffs.  Register now at: https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/957535688 as we limit the available seats. There will be an opportunity for conversation and networking. Share the word.Â

Wednesday we worked with the idea of Conscious Choices in the Essential Feminine Living Room. It has become clear to me in my own life that the clearer I am about my intentions the more powerful the outcomes are. I guess by now this sounds obvious since so many world teachers are focusing on the power of intention. The truth of the matter is that it needs to become an integrated part of our daily practice or these are just senseless words.
In The Living Room, we focused on each of gaining an understanding of what the bigger picture of our life holds. What is the meaning we are here to express, or live or create. True magic in life arises when we line up this bigger picture with our daily choices. The bigger picture serves as a litmus test in which we can begin to measure if our life is in alignment or not.
For many years, I’ve been discussing the idea that each of us have a higher purpose or meaning. It is the responsibility of each of us to discover our own higher purpose. A few questions to ask yourself include:
- How can I allow more good into my life?
- What brings me pure joy:
- What is deeply meaningful for me?
- What is the best way for me to create quiet time or time for introspection?
As I speak with women today on a regular basis I hear the comment that life moves so fast. For this very reason it is essential that we create time to answer these very important questions. Once we do, our quality of life becomes far richer and more meaningful.
Join me for the next Living Room which will be held on July 28th when our topic will be Feminine Abundance – Fully Showing Up In The World and our guest will be Anna Scott. Register at https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/896207192

More so than ever before in the last fifty years, uncertainty is a part of everyday life. We are living today in a time when a lack of economic security, stressed relationships, and world upheaval puts pressure on each of us. To flourish in the face of this pressure, it is necessary to step back, take charge and consider what goal we want to move towards. An important question to ask is: What do I want to come of this?  Since doubt comes when we hold conflicting desires, being clear of our purpose is the first step in becoming free from our doubts and fears. Knowing our purpose and holding it steadfastly allows the things we need to come towards us.Â
By understanding our purpose and ourselves, we can be confident in the face of the world’s uncertainty. If our purpose is aligned with hope and the highest possible good, it cannot fail. So, ask yourself where your greatest about of uncertainty lies. Ask why it exists in your life at this time and what you can learn about yourself from it. Ask what is the highest good that can come from it. Let the answers come to you and you may be surprised at you inner strength and reserves.

There is a great joy, lightness and a sense of knowing which prevails when we understand the purpose of our lives. The road to this destination can sometimes feel long and winding. People often speak of confusion, fear and a lack of clarity setting in. They are all part of the journey, the journey of knowing. They are actually some very clear indicators that can guide us along the way when we take note of them and use them to understand ourselves. As we come to know ourselves, we learn our purpose. It is only when we fully know the reason that we are here can we live in a fully inspired way. Our world is busy, so filled with things that need to be done. We often believe that we should ignore our feelings in order to achieve, push, drive or reach a given result. I am no longer convinced that this is true. I have found that taking time for listening in silence, observing signs, patterns and repeated feelings moves me closer to my purpose as well as allowing me to get more done. As John O’Donohue says in his book “Anam Cara†“It is in the depths of your life that you will discover the invisible necessity that has brought you here. When you begin to decipher this, your gift and giftedness come alive. Your heart quickens and the urgency of living rekindles your creativity.†We need creativity today for the world faces change at every side. It is only by our creativity that we can break the patterns of the past and bring a fresh new world into being. Dare to bring forth your gifts.
