Alive, Awake and Ready to Go in 2011

December 17th, 2010

We are often overwhelmed by the world around us and wonder how we as individuals could make a difference.  Our world isn’t the way we would like it to be; what can we do?  I believe that the only true way to change the world around us is to change our inner world as it is reflected in what we attract from the outer world.  I believe that, as Shakti Gawain said in her Reflections in the Light “When we trust and follow the energy of the universe within us, it leads us into the appropriate action for any given situation.  It may lead us to speak or be silent, to move and dance or be still, to sing, shout, cry, or meditate.  In interactions with others it may lead us to converse, to hug, to sit quietly together.  The passion of life exists in all of these experiences and fulfillment comes from following and expressing this energy naturally, as we really need it.”

Once again we are at that time of year when we look back at the past and make resolutions about how we’d like to make changes in the New Year ahead.  This is the perfect time to think about the inner resources that we naturally hold; such as a deep understanding of the whole, a natural ability for care and compassion, and a deep innate wisdom to be able to see through the outer surface of things.  If we find ways to integrate these attributes into our lives in a way that enhances our personal power and our ability to pull from our own resources and depth, our lives would become more successful.

This is the topic of our first webinar of the New Year which is entitled, “Fully Showing Up in 2011: Alive Awake and Ready To Go”.  For two hours on January 12th beginning at 12:00 noon, this webinar will support you to design your personal 2011 New Year Strategy.

Life is rich if we embrace it with an open mind and an open heart.  It’s our choice as to how we fill our waking hours.  Make some choices about how you would like to create your life going forward.  Join us for this exciting webinar and learn practical ways to bring energy, appropriate action and fulfillment into your 2011.  Register for this exciting webinar at:  http://teffullyshowingup.eventbrite.com

“Things do not change; we change” Henry David Thoreau

When I think of change and growth, I have been asking myself what lesson am I to gain from this good or bad experience.  I have been linking in my mind the words, change, choice and consciousness.  I made a decision this year to listen very closely to learn more about the true reason that I am here.  I have come to realize that it is for the purpose of seeing equity in our world, exploring my life and looking for areas where more truth can be revealed and to share in the raising of consciousness in my life with all lives that I touch.  I learn so much from every life that touches mine.

Conscious change is the topic I’ve been exploring this month.  As you may know, we will be covering this in The Essential Feminine Living Room on June 23 at Noon PST (https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/161980817).  I am now spending part of my morning to align my day with these three primary objectives that my life holds.  Since I began this practice, I began to see my life become richer and more meaningful.  A couple of things that you may want to keep in mind as you start your day include:

Why am I here?  For what greater purpose am I on this planet?  (I believe we are all here for a reason.  Explore yours.   “

What change do I need to make today to line my life up with this purpose (or purposes)?

Join us for The Essential Feminine Living Room (https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/161980817 )for more discussions with women around the world.

Conscious Living

June 16th, 2010

In our June Living Room (https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/161980817), we will be covering conscious choices.  As I prepared for the first half of the living room which includes a talk on this topic, I realized that consciousness lives everywhere, in the trees, animals, as well as every aspect of life.  I began to realize that consciousness is a form of self-awareness.  It includes a decision to direct our thoughts for the purpose of our personal expansion or as many would say enlightenment.  Many say simplest way to tell if we are in a truly conscious state is when we are experiencing an emotional high or exhalation.  For me this experience comes alive in me when I feel an alignment to a source (soul) much greater than myself.

Let’s take a look at conscious living and what our lives would be like if we were totally conscious.  It is a common known fact that we live approximately 80% of our lives in an unconscious state (Lipton “The Biology of Consciousness”).  This leaves us with 20% of our life where we are actually at choice – not acting from habit or past behavior.  It’s important for us to understand what past behaviors and habits are controlling the other 80%.  Here are a few keys:

Where are you putting your energy or attention that feels numbing or dulling.

Do you spend your time with life enhancing hobbies and activities or ones that take away from your life force?

What percent of your day is spent in activities and work that feed your soul, knowledge base and happiness?

Maureen

Consultations are available to support you in living life fully conscious.  Join us for our next Living Room at noon PST on Wednesday, June 23rd  (https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/161980817)

Conscious Choices – The Golden Key to Success

June 8th, 2010

We are all working to achieve a life well lived.  Be it in the work we do, the contribution we make, or the legacy we leave behind.  We are all at different stages of life, many, with different objectives.   Consciousness begins by developing our ability to clearly hear the messages that come to us from within.  Some messages give us information like a basic hunch, some like a lightning bolt some like an epiphany or a wake-up call.  Our ability to listen to these messages and to integrate them into our actions provides us with a basis for conscious living.  If we could entertain the thought that our “self” has a higher place where it operates we could begin to experience a greater flow in our lives.  It is my belief that my higher self is consistently sending me suggestions and ideas that link me to the greater purpose of my life.  Sometimes these suggestions are very subtle but when I listen and follow this guidance I notice that fascinating changes occur that inform me how to use my skills resources and capabilities.  It is in the quiet moments when I move away from busyness that this, critical information is revealed to me.

“At any moment, I could start being a better person, but which moment should I choose?”  Ashleigh Brilliant

So how does all of this relate to Conscious Choices?  Try this.   Start today by noticing the guidance that may be coming through daily that maybe you didn’t notice yesterday.  Clearly listen to any messages that come from within.  Notice if you sense a driving power or informing sense guiding you.  If so, be sure to listen and use the information that you are given.  Allow yourself to screen things that may be imposed by the busy mind.  This stage requi res discretion.  Make choices that incorporate both your inner sense of knowing and you rational mind.

In the upcoming June Essential Feminine Living Room we will be discussing Conscious Choices – The Golden Key to Success.  Join us Wed, Jun 23, 2010 12:00 PM – 1:15 PM PDT. Register at https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/1619800817

A Mid-Year Wake Up

May 12th, 2010

Every life holds a higher purpose.  It is important to know how our actions and thoughts contribute to this purpose and, therefore, to the good of others.  When we connect our will to a higher will we immediately do well and serve others.  When we serve others there is a richness of spirit in our lives.  We all have a special contribution to make.  When we dream about our ideal life, we are beginning to envision our highest potential.  And, if we can align our lives with the highest good for all, we experience the benefit of this in our own lives.  Inner listening is a sure way to connect with higher will.  Notice messages that come through in your dreams as well as the signs that make themselves clear in your day-to-day life.

The energy that we have in our day is directly correlated with our higher purpose.  When our actions and higher purpose are aligned we experience a vibrancy and energy that feels alive.  If we experience our energy shutting down or dullness, we are probably not aligned with our higher will.  Listen closely for the messages through moods, signs in the body, the quality of your health and the way that you feel in certain environments.  Your body your mind and your spirit all hold extremely valuable information.

As we move towards the mid-year point, notice if you are living awake or asleep.  Join us in the Essential Feminine Living Room for a complimentary adventure that is sure to awaken your spirit and connect you with amazing women from around the world.  Register at the links below.

Women Are Needed To Bring Balance Into The World

October 11th, 2009

For over 20 years, I have successfully mentored powerful women leaders from around the globe to create and expand innovative businesses that authentically reflect their core values. I have steadfastly based my work on my strong belief that our emerging world culture needs, and is now demanding, that women step into their rightful power and leadership roles. The imbalance in our world between the masculine and feminine principles is causing the anxiety, unrest and upheaval we see around us. Our world society is based on power and control, the masculine principle and the suppression of the feminine attributes we all possess.  Hope for the world lies in bringing forth the feminine principal and creating a balance of the masculine and feminine.

In a recent ezine article, Sanjay Kali points out that “The rise of womanhood is closely attached with awakening the feminine in all of us. The lead in this direction has to come from the womenfolk. Only if you come together as one unified force can we think about the rise of a new era based on the feminine principle of life. You are the natural carrier of the feminine principle. Mother Nature has bestowed women with the feminine energy of love, compassion, nurturing and healing which leads to unification of every aspect of life whether at the individual level or at the larger level of the world.”    http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Sanjay_Kali

This is the core of my personal self-discovery, research and work with women.   I am so excited to be getting information out to women on this subject. I realize that we often live from not knowing our feminine strengths or demeaning them. I look forward to the day that we own our strengths and special gifts so that the world will be different. I’ve been working on a new webinar “Creating and Living with Influence and Success from the Feminine Perspective” to help women discover their strengths. We are collaborative, caring, compassionate, and powerful. We now need to live and lead with these gifts. I am excited about the day that we will see feminine attributes in all forms of leadership and power. Trust me, the world will be a wonderful place. I have decided to give a complimentary webinar as a sneak preview to some of the work that I will be launching next year. Join me October 21 at 12 noon PDT for “Creating and Living with Influence and Success from the Feminine Perspective.” Email me at Maureen@maureensimon.com for log in information.

Taking Charge by Making Conscious Decisions Regarding Your Life – First Steps

September 15th, 2009

Life is fast and full for most of us! We go through the days like ships at sea without a compass, seemingly at the mercy of everything around us. That is when it is important to make a conscious decision to pause and realize that we are the ones responsible for our lives. We can take charge. We can find our compass, our direction, and make a difference in the world. Three steps we can take to achieve our direction are to quiet the mind, connect with the body, and evaluate whether or not we are expressing our gifts fully in the world. All three of these practical expressions can make a major difference in the quality of our lives!

The first step: Quieting The Mind

 • Set aside time in silence at least 3 days a week for 20 minutes where you can begin to get to know yourself, your needs, your desires and aspirations. Learn to identify and trust your intuition and inner voice. We all have an inner voice that guides and directs us. We just need to listen.

• Question: Can you think of one way this week that you could actually create a period of calm and stillness for yourself?

The second step: Connecting With The Body

• Learn to become more aware of your body’s needs.

• Listen more closely to the signs that your body gives you, i.e. where are there aches, sensations and areas of tightness? Is your body sending you a message? What might the message be?

• Explore these sensations through yoga or other movement you enjoy. Your body holds great information about its own healing needs and emotional state of being.

• Question: What 2 things would you need to do differently to begin to honor and care for your body in a new way?

By taking these two steps, you start to walk on a path of self-exploration. You begin to get a sense of who you are and how your life fits into the scheme of things. Each of us is unique and each of us has a unique contribution to make in the world. The world today needs the contributions that are born from the qualities and gifts embodied in women. We as women need to discover these gifts and bring them forth.

Needing Women Leaders

August 14th, 2009

Several years ago in a blog entitled “Are Women In The US Really Leading?”, I commented on a global survey ranking women in the area of gender equality that was compiled by “The White House Project”.  The survey stated that “The United States ranks 22nd out of 115 countries.”  The report utilized 4 measurement standards: economic participation and opportunity, educational attainment, health and survival, and political empowerment.  We came in first for Health and Survival, and third for Economic Opportunity.  But, we received our lowest score for Political Empowerment, coming in 66th.

I wondered about our progress since that time and went looking for an updated report.  I discovered a thought provoking and heart touching blog written by Mary C. Wilson for “The White House Project Blog”, entitled A False Divide Between Head and Heart: What I Learned From Robert McNamara.  It is well worth reading in its entirety.

As for the report, she states in her blog, “Women are still vastly underrepresented in the halls of power. As the soon-to-be-released “White House Project Report: Benchmarking Women’s Leadership” has found, women are far from parity in every sector, from business and politics to sports and religion. Projections show that it will take decades to reach even a critical mass in many of these arenas; and the women who do make it into positions of power often do so at great sacrifice.”

 Do we have decades?

Becoming leaders takes courage and determination and most of all a willingness to step forward.  It can not and will not be done for us.  Though, each of us must take that step for ourselves, we need not do it alone.

Actors on a Stage

August 9th, 2009

“Do not take life’s experiences too seriously.  Above all, do not let them hurt you, for in reality they are nothing but dream experiences…  If circumstances are bad and you have to bear them, do not make them a part of yourself.  Play your part in life, but never forget that it is only a role.”

Paramahansa Yogananda

Paramahansa Yogananda is one of my all time favorite teachers in life.  He truly has taught me to live life as if I am acting on a stage.  For this, I hold great gratitude to him.  Each day, life can feel very serious as though this moment and today are all that really matter.  But like most experiences in life, if you look back on a day that seemed to be your all time worst, today in retrospect it may feel far less significant.  Another thought that crosses my mind frequently is how important it is for me to step out of my life and to look at things from an aerial view, from a bigger picture.  Most times, the things that seem so important on the ground hold very little importance when I look at their overall relevance.

So the lesson for me is to take things easy, to take things as they come.  I am committed to learning, to go with the flow and to allow my life to unfold as though I were an actor on the stage.
