Did you ever wonder how outer success comes about? You may remember last month we focused our blogs and The Essential Feminine Living Room on the topic of Feminine Abundance. This month we are turning our attention to how our inner life informs and supplies our outer life. When we say inner life, we understand that this can mean different things to different people, cultures, and ways of life. No matter where you are or what you believe there is a universal truth that when we connect to our visions, intentions and deepest desires from a place of quiet, stillness and inner reflection the outcome is more balanced, harmonious and often more successful.Ă‚Â
Traditions around the globe have valued the art of contemplation for thousands of years. For when we have the ability to connect in, listen from within and lead and live from within riches abound. The idea that quieting the mind leads to a quiet and replenished central nervous system has been proven time and time again from scientific research on meditation to the hundreds and thousands of people now prioritizing a practice of contemplation and stillness in their lives. There is a great interest in stillness and in developing our inner connection because the world has become fast and for many, out of control. The respite of a practice that guides us to connect deep within our self informs our sense of surety when we are making decisions as our level of clarity is greatly increased.
Do you have a practice for contemplation through your faith, personal inquiry or community? Can it be richer, more committed, more focused? Do you need support in beginning or creating a deeper, richer practice? If so, you are in luck. This month we will be discussing our inner life and outer success and on August 25th we will be joined in The Essential Feminine Company’s Living Room by Camille Maurine, a renowned teacher and author of a fabulous book entitled “Meditation For Women”. I have known Camille for many years and have had the pleasure of facilitating women’s groups with her in Los Angeles. She will show you simplistic ways to practice, still the mind and open new opportunities for you throughout the day. She’s a master and lots of fun. Join us on …. Abundance is a state of mind that we create or don’t create. It is truly a choice. We complicate matters by allowing our mind to travel down roads of past scarcity, fear or concern as we forget to see the full abundance in all aspects of our daily life. We just need to look around to notice those areas where there is fullness and choose to expand on them.
If abundance is a choice, why do we so frequently forget? Patterns of the past resurrect when days feel grey, hormones bounce around in unsettled ways and life feels challenging. It is in these very times that we need to regroup and decide what we have that makes us feel good, full and that for which we are truly grateful. We can never move towards pure abundance when we are feeling down and scarce.
The first essential element in moving from scarcity to abundance is to do what I said above…Move into gratitude for what you have.
The next element is to regroup. By regroup, I mean notice what it is that will make you feel good and abundant in this specific moment. Stay in the moment and out of the past or future.
Finally move towards your dream. Make a few small notes about what it will take for you to move towards the abundance you are craving or desiring. This could look like an intention, a small plan or a big dream. Remember abundance is not purely financial but a state of mind. Remember to include in your vision, supports, guidance and things you are currently grateful for as they will be a part of moving you forward into the next level of abundance.
Good luck on your journey. Life is full of opportunities…you choose.

In order to create an intentional beginning to the New Year, we must evaluate the road that we have just traveled. Where have we been in the past year? What in the past year has served us? And what in the past year needs to be different going forward? What standards do you want to create in your life in 2010 that will bring your life to a whole new level? How do we redesign our life in a way that serves us in our highest vision of ourselves.
Incorporating life’s lessons of the past is central. Updating our beliefs, reassessing our values, and understanding what we truly need today—are all foundational. Beginning to understand what passion means to us and how to best use life’s challenges and opportunities form the second layer of inquiry that we must explore. Moving into the world with purpose allows us to link with higher will. And then there are the practical housekeeping pieces of how we work with time and rhythm and cycles of life. How we create balance informs how sustainable our blueprint will be. Our trust in manifestation and our ability to co-create with teams, colleagues and a higher power all allow us to design a blueprint that is sustainable, reflective, and deeply connected to our higher purpose here.
What is your higher purpose here? What needs to be different in 2010 for you to align and live in deeper connection with that purpose? What is one commitment that you are willing to make between now and December 31 that will move you towards a greater vision?

“You are a human magnet and you are constantly attracting to you people whose characters harmonize with your own.” -Napoleon Hill
What you imagine you can create. Within our imagination we hold the power to recreate our lives and manifest far more than we believe on a day-to-day basis. The art of manifesting includes one’s ability to clearly define a desired outcome or way of being and to believe and work towards this on a daily basis. Setting a clear intention is the first step in creating a new reality. Never be afraid to think big and design this new reality to include things that both feel good and provide you with opportunities for growth. We often beaver away in our own world, viewing life from a set of limited lenses. Expand your vision to include seeing the world in a whole new way.
There comes a time in life where we know we have to take ourselves to the next level; the next level of adventure, accomplishment, exploration or achievement. When this feeling sets in we often feel a questioning of our abilities to take our life to the next level-whatever that may look like for you. Some may chose never to move past a certain level of development or living and remain in a state of entropy. It takes great self-confidence to move throught theses challenging times; to stretch ourselves and move to new levels of living expression or achievement. It is easy to spot those who old back and show a lack of confidence, as this lack of confidence shows up in the words they speak, the way that they hold their body and the way that the repel rather than attract others. Today’s economy and the state of the world can shut people down and make them question their self belief. On the other hand, these times that we are living in can offer one an opportunity to stretch beyond limiting thoughts and beliefs and to live with a new level of confidence. What’s your choice?
The clearer we become about what our life is meant to express, about our talents and our gifts, the more powerfully we will be able to attract allies, guides, friends, and supports to help us on our journey. When Socrates spewed the famous quote, “know thy self,” the importance of his words carried throughout the ages. I believe that this quote carries such importance because as humans unless we “know thyself” we miss a tremendous opportunity to live fully alive lives, to create at a truly high level and to manifest and contribute in powerful ways. The first true step to powerful manifestation is to truly know what we value what we believe and what we would like to create. From this simple knowledge we can go forth into the world with this powerful inner-knowing and understanding and manifest far beyond what we ever envisioned.
